Please be advised that the Board of Elections of the Greenlawn Water District shall meet on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY, for the purpose of preparing the rolls of registered voters of the Greenlawn Water District.
The annual election of the Greenlawn Water District will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014, between the hours of 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY.
Please note that in 2014 and thereafter, only those persons who have registered with the County Board of Elections on or before the 23rd day before the Water District Election Day shall be eligible to vote. In 2014, such registration must take place on or before November 17, 2014.

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Commissioners of the Greenlawn Water District, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, New York, until Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM prevailing time when they will be publicly opened for a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer.
Minimum bid is $1,800.00.
The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to award to the highest responsible bidder who in their judgment submits the most advantageous proposal to benefit the District, and is pursuant to Section 103 of General Municipal Law.
Truck to be sold in “as is” condition. Name, address, phone number of bidder and shall appear on the envelope containing the sealed bid. The envelope must also specify the make and model of truck being bid on (“Chevrolet Blazer” ).
Truck may be inspected October 10, 2014 through October 21, 2014 at above address between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday.
The Board of Commissioners of the Greenlawn Water District, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, New York 11740, will receive sealed Proposals until 9:00 a.m., Prevailing Time, Wednesday, October 29, 2014, for Professional Auditing and Accounting Services.
The District reserves the right to waive any informality in, to reject any or all proposals submitted, or to accept the proposal and award the contract to a responsible formal Proposer, in the best interests of the District. A proposal submitted by a proposer who is not in full compliance with the provisions of General Municipal Law at the time of submission will be denied.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election for the Office of Commissioner of the Greenlawn Water District will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Greenlawn Water District, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY, for the purpose of electing one (1) Commissioner for a term of three (3) years. Said polling place is located within the Greenlawn Water District in the Town of Huntington, County of Suffolk, State of New York. Polls will be open from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on that date.
Petitions of Candidates must:
- Be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters on a form which must be secured at the District office. ONLY PETITIONS ON THIS FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- Be filed with the Board of Commissioners at the District office by 4:30 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014.
To be eligible to vote, a person must:
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Reside within the District at least 30 days prior to said election date.
- Be a registered voter under the Suffolk County Permanent Registration on or before November 17, 2014.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of the Greenlawn Water District will hold a public hearing at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY, at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the proposed budget of estimated expenses and revenues of the Greenlawn Water District for the calendar year commencing January 1, 2015. A copy of the proposed budget will be made available for public inspection commencing September 4, 2014 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY.
All persons interested will be given an opportunity to present comments at said public hearing.

Joe defeated all challengers to win the “Meter Madness” contest that pits competitors against the clock to assemble a water meter from a bucket of parts. Competitors practice year round to compete at the Annual Conference and Exposition of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) in Rochester. And there’s no faster assembler in the state than Joe, who has been with the GWD since 2009.
