NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of the Greenlawn Water District hereby schedules a budget workshop to be held by said Board at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad St., Greenlawn, NY, at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013.

The public hearing for the tentative budget of estimated expenses and revenues of the Water District for the calendar year 2014 will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013.

All persons interested will be given an opportunity to present written and oral comments at said public hearing.

A special meeting of the Greenlawn Water District Board of Commissioners will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013, at the offices of the Greenlawn Water District, 45 Railroad St. in Greenlawn, to review major points to be discussed at the public hearing being held June 4, 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, 100 Main St., Huntington, NY concerning the District’s participation in the Town of Huntington’s 2013 Consolidated Serial Bond sale for construction of new Well No. 18 on the District’s plant site No. 5, located at Wicks Road and Larkfield Road.

Sealed bids for a 2000 Ford van will be received at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY up until 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, and opened and read aloud at that time. Van to be sold as is.

A special meeting of the Greenlawn Water District Board of Commissioners will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the offices of the Greenlawn Water District, 45 Railroad St. in Greenlawn, to consider the adoption of a resolution authorizing an increase in the facilities of the Greenlawn Water District by constructing new Well No. 18 on the District’s plant site No. 5, located at Wicks Road and Larkfield Road, and further authorizing the District to take part in the Town of Huntington’s 2013 Consolidated Serial Bond sale.

The Board reserves the right to waive any informality in, to reject any or all bids, or to award the contract to such bidder who in its judgment submits the bid with the lowest prices and best schedule for completion of construction.

Each bid must be on the form furnished by the Board of Commissioners and must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check payable to “Board of Water Commissioners”, in an amount of at least five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bid, said security to be forfeited to the Water District as liquidated damages in case of failure of the successful bidder to enter into a contract for the execution of the work within ten (10) days after written notice from the Board to do so has been mailed to the bidder’s address as stated in its proposal.

Sealed bids for the purchase of services required for Spring Cleanup and Grounds Maintenance for the year 2013 (two separate contracts) at various sites throughout the Greenlawn Water District, will be received up to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, New York, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Specifications for said bids are on file at the Greenlawn Water District office. All contractors wishing to bid on this work must make an appointment with the Superintendent or designee to inspect all sites before bidding.
