PUBLIC NOTICE GREENLAWN WATER DISTRICT BUDGET HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of the Greenlawn Water District will hold a public hearing at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY, at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The purpose of the hearing is to consider the proposed budget of estimated expenses and revenues of the Greenlawn Water District for the calendar year commencing January 1, 2022. The Board will consider effectuating increases to certain revenue items including increases to water rates, the tax rate, and implementation of a quarterly water treatment water rate surcharge of $20 for State mandated maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) for emerging contaminants, all effective January 1, 2022. A copy of the proposed budget, water rates, tax rate, and water rate surcharge will be made available for public inspection between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Greenlawn Water District office, 45 Railroad Street, Greenlawn, NY, and will be posted for review on the District’s website.
All persons interested will be given an opportunity to present comments at said public hearing.
